About Me

One day, while scanning through the Community Education classes, I came upon a stained glass class and thought, “hmmm...that sounds like fun.”  Four years later, here I am, lovin’ every minute of it!  Well, almost every minute of it...those minutes where my glass didn’t break quite where I wanted it to...those minutes I wasn’t lovin’ and probably were colored with language that wouldn’t make me look genteel. :)  Anyway, I digress…  I decided last  year to enter 2 of my pieces into the 2005 Minnesota State Fair.  I won 1st place in Large Panels with my koi panel “Tranquility” and 3rd place with my carousel lamp “Ride of a Lifetime.”  I couldn’t have been prouder.  They were displayed for all of Minnesota to see and I was so honored.  At that moment, I KNEW that stained glass was my passion.  I had suspected earlier, but I hadn’t quite known.  I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up and now I found that I suddenly did know.

Through this form of art, I’ve been blessed to have met The Goddess of Glass, or Miss Connie Beckers.  What an inspiration she has been.  Walking into that first class, I didn’t know that I would develop such a great friendship with my teacher - and I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher either.  If you are looking to try stained glass out for yourself and your creativity, she’s definitely the one to search out.
