This is Hobbs, a “Stray that Stayed”.

I know this picture has nothing to do with glass, but isn’t he just the cutest?

Amazing Glass

What a wonderful medium for art glass can be.  You can cut it, melt it, pull it, smash it, solder it together...the ideas are endless in the ways it can be manipulated!

Glass Tips and Tricks! (It’s finally here!)

· Hate trying to put on the glass polishing compound?  Try this little trick...use one of those envelope moistener tubes (that are less than a buck)!  Just fill it with your finishing compound, and then run it over your lines of solder.  Voila!  Easy, isn’t it?  Here’s a picture of one of those tubes so you know what I’m talking about:

· Ever solder the front of your stained glass creation...then solder the back...then turn it back over and the beading of the solder on the front is totally ruined?!  Ugh!  Well, what’s the solution to this problem?  Just wet a towel, wring it out, and place it under your project after you have soldered the front and have flipped it over to solder the back.  So, you should have the unfinished side facing you, with the finished front against the towel which is against the surface of the work table.  The damp towel keeps the solder on the front cool and stops it from melting and running and ruining your beautiful bead lines! :)

· Hate trying to remove that white crust that glass polish leaves?  Usually having to get in there and scrub the seams with an old toothbrush?  Well, no more!  I’ve found the answer!  It’s the SonicScrubber—I bought mine at Cub but if you can’t find one, here’s the website: www.sonicscrubber.com—I use the medium and firm detachable heads and it works fabulously!!!
